Lingenic is a notation system. Not a programming language. Not an ontology. Not a query language. Purely descriptive. It represents knowledge without executing, querying, or commanding anything.

Two traditions. Two millennia apart. The same impulse.

Humans cannot learn all languages. Communication across linguistic boundaries requires one of three options.

In 1968, Knuth published The Art of Computer Programming. The key observation is not about any specific algorithm. It is about how he chose to describe them.

The characteristica universalis: a notation for expressing any concept unambiguously. Every idea would have a symbol. Complex ideas would compose from simpler ones. The notation would transcend natural languages entirely.

Lingenic is a notation. Not a programming language. Not an ontology. Not a query language.

Some things could not be expressed before. Not in natural language. Not in formal logic. The notation for them did not exist.
