Origin. Google Ventures Design Sprint.

Mechanism. Fold a sheet into eight panels; eight sketches in eight minutes. The time bound is below the threshold at which self-censorship operates, so the sixth through eighth sketches are drawn from a different part of the space than the first two.

Procedure. One minute per panel, no exceptions, no erasing, individual and silent. Then share, then vote by dot.

Applies to. Interface and layout divergence, where a sketch is a complete expression of an idea.

Limitations. Only applies where an idea can be drawn in sixty seconds. It does not transfer to problems whose ideas are propositions.
